Find the most recent news about AO Smith water heaters, the latest innovations, awards and much more.

New AO Smith water heater with advanced hybrid technology

AO Smith introduces the most advanced water heater that is using a hybrid electric technology, called Voltex, the electric heat pump that can save up to 50% of energy (claimed by AO Smith).

With very high energy efficiency, AO Smith Voltex hybrid water heater is recognized as Energy Star unit that can pay for itself in three years or less. As part of the rebate programs, new A O Smith heat pump, Voltex, is eligible for Federal Tax Credit of 30 % of its total installed cost and up to $1500.

Savings, according to A O Smith are significant, up to $203 for Voltex in savings, where costs for operating standard electric units are $575.

New AO Smith Gas Water Heater with the highest energy efficiency

AO Smith Effex is the high efficiency gas-fired water heater, with the highest EF factor of 0.70 in the water heating industry. AO Smith manufacturer claims that cost of operating the heater can be reduced by 25%, when compares to the traditional gas water heaters.

Technology that A O Smith is using to build the heater with such energy efficiency is based on the patented air intake system where the combustion chamber works in the pressurized environment, so the additional heat is gained by extracting it from the products of combustion.

Effex is using the green technology, and that is why AO Smith is applying a new technology on the most popular 40 and 50-gallon heaters.
