Propane tankless water heater?

I was informed today that my hot water heater is leaking, is old and needs to be replaced. So,the search begins for the best replacement. I don't have natural gas available where I live, North Carolina, USA.

I am interested in the tankless models and was wondering if it would be worth it to invest in a propane tank in order to have one installed. Electric isn't very expensive here, but the better reviews appear to suggest the gas model.

I don't know how much gas it would use.
