I bought two Bosch Aquastar heaters from Lowes, they were installed in the roof space of my house in Texas. In 2013 Texas experienced some cold weather and both the water supply pipes popped out of the heat exchanger and caused considerable water damage. It is impossible to insulate the pipes where they go into the heat exchanger and they are held in position by a rubber ring.
Other consumers have experienced similar problems with these heaters. It took me a long time to contact the right person at Bosch and when I did it was obvious that they were not willing to do anything. They told me that the problem was caused by "negative" draft. Don't buy these heaters, I have since taken them out and replaced them. It was a very expensive mistake to install Bosch Aquastar heaters.
