Ruud water heaters are part of the Rheem and Paloma HVAC group, the world's leading manufacturer of the heating and cooling products for residential and commercial use.
Ruud was the leading manufacturer of the appliances for hot water production in the first half of 20th century. Even being bought by Rheem in 1959, Ruud water heaters brand, HVAC equipment and its replacement parts are still present on the market, as the reliable and high quality units.
Types of Rheem Ruud Water Heaters

Tank
type Ruud water heaters can be found as the electrical and gas fired
units, with the extensive product offer and affordable prices to buy
and installation. Ruud manufacturer as other heating companies, implements special flammable vapor ignition resistant technology, FVIR in short, on its tank type gas heaters, to prevent the ignition of flammable vapors, such as spilled gasoline, outside the unit.

Tankless type Ruud Water Heaters
Ruud tankless water heaters are energy efficient and space saving heaters, offering several important features, including EZ-Link cable that connects two or more units for high demand homes; self diagnostic system, great for troubleshooting with an easy to read codes, new generation burner technology for low NOx emission, an overheat film wrap for protection and much more.
Ruud water heaters with a tank-less technology are durable, you can expect 15 to 20 years of good performance, and with the 12-year limited warranty on the heat exchanger and 5 on the component parts, they are more that welcome in our homes.
Depend on the size of your home and your needs, you can buy from the smallest 5.3 gallons per minute model, enough for up to 2 bath homes, to 9.5 gallons per minute model which is enough for heating and supplying water for up to three bathroom homes.
All the models are Energy Star except the model RTG-84DV that is designed for the outside installations only.
Solar Ruud Water Heaters
Ruud manufacturer produces two types of solar water heating systems: active and passive. Both systems will provide significant savings due to its ability to reduce the hot water energy consumption by 50% to 90%.Ruud solar water heaters can be combined with the electric and gas fired booster to provide water heating year round when the solar power is not sufficient or available.
Ruud SolPak is the active solar water heating system which uses a circulating pump to move the water through the system. It is also called a "forced circulation" system and it requires more power to operate.
Passive system is using the gravity to run the water from the solar panels to the storage tank. Ruud designs Solaroid systems as the passive way of running the heated water.
Ruud solar heating system initial cost is high, but as they are using a free solar power and green energy they will pay off on the long run. You can also benefit from the government incentives and other available rebates, as these solar heaters are Energy Star.
Ruud Heat Pump Water Heaters
Ruud heat pump water heaters are using electricity to operate. This unit is the only electrical heater that is Energy Star qualified, as its energy factor is 2.0, twice the efficiency of the standard electrical units.Ruud heat pump has two models available, with a 40 and 50-gallon tank capacity.
